Medical Staff

The current medical staff includes 4 admitting physicians 2 of which are physiatrists. We are actively recruiting 2 additional full time physiatrists (including the Medical Director). An existing physiatry practice comprised of the 2 current physiatrists, 2 advanced practice nurses and 2 physician assistants currently rents office space within the hospital and also sees patients on an outpatient basis.

In addition to the admitting medical staff there are approximately 40 active consulting physicians with ranging specialties including: internal medicine, neurology, nephrology, orthopedics, pediatrics, podiatry, and radiology. A local hospitalist group provides daily medical consultation service as requested by the attending physician. This group also shares on-call coverage.

PM&R Physician will establish a private practice to include a caseload of medically complex inpatient rehabilitation patients and an outpatient rehabilitation practice if he or she chooses.  The Physiatrist will set up a relationship with an independent billing company and retain 100% of his/her own billing and collections.  Healthsouth hospitals are extremely busy with high patient volumes - HealthSouth has its own well-trained outreach teams that identify appropriate inpatient rehabilitation candidates from surrounding areas.
