Job Description

The Business Analyst is a subject matter expert level position and has a key role in the design and architecture of application solutions. This position works with end users and developers to define requirements, designs and prototypes solutions, defines system and application interfaces, defines standard development frameworks, implements pertinent design patterns, reviews code, and ensures applications are compliant with policies. The position further ensures that application development is thoroughly documented and supports deployment and training phases of the SDLC.

License or Certification: - Valid state driver's license Education, Training and Years of Experience: - Associates Degree or Undergraduate degree recommended - Minimum 7 years of experience - 2 to 3 years of business analysis experience preferred - Technical certifications, such as the Certified Business Analysis Professional or CBAP certification, are encouraged but not required - Knowledgeable in: * Software design and architecture * Object-oriented design * Service oriented architecture * Software development * Technical documentation * Performance tuning * Testing methodologies * SDLC * Application security * Database design * Web development * Enterprise packages - Knowledgeable in one or more of the following areas: * .NET - Visual Basic / C# * Java / Java Server Pages / Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) * HTML * XML * MS SharePoint * SQL / PL/SQL / Transact-SQL * PHP * Javascript * ASP.net * Web Services * Application Services - Jboss, Tomcat * Database Platforms - Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, etc Machines, Equipment Used: - General office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer. Physical Requirements: - Good visual acuity and ability to communicate. - Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds and ability push/pull a minimum of 30 pounds. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimum requirements. Skills and Abilities: - Ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively. - Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner. - Ability to work independently without supervision. Environmental Conditions: - Indoor, temperature controlled, smoke-free environment. - Handicapped accessible. - May work under stressful circumstances at times. Proficiency or Productivity Standards: - Meets established attendance standards. - Adheres to dress code including wearing ID badge. - May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and or night shifts if needed to meet deadlines. - May be required to work on religious and/or legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts. - May be required to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
