Job Description

HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Erie

At HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Erie, we believe that integrated care delivery across the healthcare continuum is critical to achieving the best outcomes for patients. As a leader in post-acute care, we exist to provide a better way to care that elevates expectations and outcomes.

HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Erie is an inpatient rehabilitation hospital that offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services designed to return patients to leading active and independent lives.  Our modern 90,000 square-foot inpatient rehabilitation hospital is situated on the coast of Lake Erie and offers comprehensive nursing care and extensive inpatient therapy serving the tri-state areas of northwestern Pennsylvania, northeastern Ohio, and western New York.

Our hospital provides a wide range of physical rehabilitation services, a vast network of highly skilled, independent physicians and HealthSouth therapists and nurses, and the most innovative equipment and rehabilitation technology, ensuring that all patients have access to the highest quality care.  Our hospital offers highly specialized inpatient rehabilitation services. From hip fractures to brain injuries to stroke and Parkinson’s disease – our hospital has the experts, technology and experience to meet our patients’ rehabilitation needs.

We currently are recognized by the Joint Commission for four Specialty Disease-Specific Certifications in Stroke, Brain Injury, Orthopedics, and Parkinson’s Disease.

At HealthSouth Erie, our nurses are the foundation of our purpose to deliver care that elevates expectations and outcomes and are at the frontline of the patient experience.  We are currently seeking a Part-Time Weekend Registered Nurse Supervisor to join our team!

Our Registered Nurses play a critical role on an interdisciplinary team of clinicians including physicians, therapists, and case managers.  As a nurse at HealthSouth Erie, you will help our patients regain control of their lives and their independence, treating complex medical issues and redefining how care is provided.   As part of the clinical team, our nurses lead patient assessments, create personalized plans of care, communicate progress and offer timely solutions to patient concerns.

As an employee of HealthSouth Erie, you can take advantage of our benefits and educational opportunities including competitive health, dental, and vision insurance, and a 401(k) investment with a company match beginning your first day of employment.  We recognize that education can be expensive so we offer a student loan repayment program and tuition reimbursement after one year of employment.  We also offer continuing education funding, on site education, and career opportunities.  You will have the opportunity to obtain advanced certifications such as Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse, which supports your personalized continuing education and professional development.

The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of patient care programs, policies, and procedures that describe how patients' needs for nursing care, treatment, and services are assessed, evaluated, and met.  This position will support cultural diversity by ensuring that the delivery of quality, equitable and culturally competent patient-centered care is provided; promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity; and ensuring that cultural diversity and sensitivity training is part of new employee orientation on an on-going basis to meet the needs of the patient population served in the hospital.
