Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital is a 110 bed acute rehabilitation hospital located on Worcester, MA. We provide comprehensive Inpatient and Outpatient rehabilitative care for orthopedic, neurologic, multi-trauma, brain injury, stroke, pulmonary and cardiac rehabilitation needs.
 
We are a hospital setting with a full complement of Therapists, Nurses, Neuropsychologists and Medical staff to consistently offer the best possible outcomes for our patients.
 
With an average length of stay between 1-3 weeks, we have the ability to get to know our patients and their families. We are proud of the fact that 80% of the patients admitted to Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital of Worcester, MA are discharged directly to their homes.

The Nutrition Services Aide assists in preparing therapeutic and modified diets for patients as well as preparing meals for employees, visitors and special functions.

The Nutrition Services Aide assists in maintaining inventory, service ware and sanitary conditions within the department.
•Other functions:
      ◦Dish room – maintain sanitation standards of all dishware and equipment
      ◦Setting up tray line and adhering to menu selection choices
      ◦Stocking and inventory of all food and equipment items
      Assisting in distribution of food to patients
•Potential to grow within department with training and experience


Previous experience in a cafeteria, restaurant preferred, but not required.

License or Certification: - Food handlers permit (if required by state or county regulations)


Training in food preparation for therapeutic diets, recent institutional cooking experience and special function cooking experience desirable. Knowledge of food safety guidelines preferred


Equipment Used: - General office equipment, mixer, ovens, steamer, microwave, toaster, blender, steam tables, fryer, food processor, scales, dish washer


Physical Requirements:
- Good visual acuity and ability to communicate.
- Ability to lift, push, pull and retrieve approximately 100% of the time.
