Job Description

The Pharmacy Technician performs technical support functions in the department under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
Performs technical support functions in the department under the direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist. Maintains inventory of medications in pharmacy, fills Pyxis machines daily, replaces floor stock, and completes documentation as required. Interacts with patients/family members to collect information on current medications.
The Pharmacy Technician creates an environment and culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission by providing patient safety and patient-centered treatment.

Certified Pharmacy Technician with NJ registration required. Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.  Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy & patient safety. Ability to work autonomously. Experience with Pyxis and Cerner operating system preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Good visual acuity and ability to communicate.

Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimum requirements.
