Helping patients regain hope and independence is what we do at Encompass Health of Concord, NH- our 60 bed physical rehabilitation hospital just north of Manchester.

 We offer a wide base of physical rehabilitative care for acute post-operative orthopedic, neurologic, multi-trauma, spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, pulmonary and cardiac rehabilitation needs.

** RN/ Wound Care Specialist **

The Wound Care Nurse directs, organizes, develops all wound care services in accordance with state requirements and company standards to ensure the delivery of quality patient care is rendered at all times. Plan of Care and physician orders are followed with regard to wound care treatment, as well as working with floor staff to ensure high quality care is provided.


This position functions independently, demonstrates above average communication skills, personal integrity, and works effectively with patients, family members, physicians, staff, and outside agencies as required.


The position leads hospital wound education efforts, as well as educates patients and family members on wounds and wound care topics. While this position does not specifically supervise clinical staff, as the leader of the wound care program in the hospital this person does direct clinical team on wound care treatment.


This position requires continuous updating of education and treatment techniques in the delivery of wound care.


In this position, the Wound Care Nurse will be expected to provide direct patient care for wounds; however opportunities for teaching and training wound care practices are an essential part of the role.


** While this is our in-house Wound Care expert, a standard patient case load will be required 50% of the time, depending on volume of wound related needs at the hospital.

The Basics

  • Current RN licensures appropriate to state regulations
  • CPR certification (ACLS preferred)
  • Wound Care Certification preferred, but not required
  • 3 years’ experience with complex medical patients and wound care expertise required
