The Chief Investor Relations Officer is responsible for creating and presenting a consistently applied message to the investment community on behalf of the Company. This role is also responsible for monitoring and presenting to management the opinions of the investment community.


  • Serves as the key point of contact for the investment community.
  • Develops an annual investor relations plan.
  • Monitors the type and mix of shareholders; conducts targeting initiatives to revise the mix.
  • Monitors operational changes through ongoing contact with management.
  • Understands Regulation Fair Disclosure; promotes it throughout the company and investment community.
  • Develops investor relations messages and creates communication materials (press releases, presentations, etc…) for earnings releases, industry events, capital transactions, investor conferences/meetings, and other events.
  • Oversees production of the annual report.
  • Manages the investor relations portion of the company website.
  • Monitors analyst reports and summarizes them for management.
  • Maintains relationships with analysts, investors, stock exchange representatives, company management and board of directors.
  • Organizes conferences, road shows, earnings conference calls, and investor meetings.
  • Prepares practice questions (with answers when needed) and leads practice sessions with management for investor meetings and earnings calls.
  • Reports on the investment community’s perception of company affairs and financial results.
  • Collaborates with management on decisions that will create or destroy value for shareholders, including stock repurchase programs and dividend changes.
  • Creates periodic feedback reports about the Company’s stock price, analysts’ estimates, analysts’ perceptions, industry and peer company performance, and the stock market in general to management and the board of directors.
  • Serves as a spokesperson for the company’s crisis communication team.
  • Develops and monitors the budget for the investor relations department.
  • Maintains the highest level of discretion in dealing with sensitive, nonpublic information.
  • Responds to special requests.
  • Supervises the Investor Relations department.



Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 15 or more years of experience practicing finance.
  • Experience with large, public corporations preferably in the healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of capital markets, financial performance metrics, and financial statements.
  • Knowledge of SEC rules and regulations.

Machines, Equipment Used:

  • General office equipment such as computer/laptop, telephone, copy/fax machine, calculator, scanner, etc.
  • Microsoft Office software, to include Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Physical Requirements:

  • Visual acuity, speech recognition, speech clarity.
  • Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 15 pounds. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling exceeds these minimum requirements.

  • Has regular, reliable, and predictable attendance and punctuality.

  • May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and/or night shifts if needed to meet deadlines.
  • May be required to work on religious and/or legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts.
