Position Purpose:

The Manager, Clinical Technologies is a management level position responsible for managing activities associated with clinical technology solutions. This position provides support for analysis, configuration, design, implementation, and troubleshooting of clinical technologies and medical devices utilized by company locations. This role develops a comprehensive understanding of clinical technologies and medical devices and the associated management of the devices including establishing configuration standards, reporting capabilities, interfacing, and integration associated with clinical applications assigned. This role engages with end users to train, analyze workflows, optimize user experience, and promote adoption. This position requires communication and engagement with end user, Encompass Health operations, vendors, and other IT professionals with adherence to standard guidelines and policies. This Manager, Clinical Technologies will support the IT Governance and SDLC re-equipments. This position is responsible for providing leadership of employees and teams as assigned.

Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Manages clinical technologies solutions to implement, update, and support the environment successfully.
  • Participates and leads project work as assigned.
  • Contributes to analysis of needs or requested review item and development of configuration standards, implementation, training, and
  • support materials.
  • Gathers data on performance metrics to facilitate review of system effectiveness/efficiency/utilization.
  • Manages vendor relationships and vendor include contract and procurement management
  • Reviews requirements of the ITG Architecture Review Committee and post approval procedure development and operational support.
  • Prepares status reports.
  • Supports IT Governance and IT SDLC.
  • Develops strategies and aligns work to achieve goals.
  • Completes special projects and other duties to support needs of organization.
  • Networks with co-workers to share best practices.
  • Assists team members with career development
  • Understands and utilizes the company resource structure.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience
  • Experience working with in Electronic Health Record environment and medical device solutions preferred
  • Knowledge of basic IT infrastructure and application components
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance (HIPAA, Privacy and Security, CMS, SOX)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in complex healthcare technology implementations beneficial
  • Demonstrated skills in project management, and business and clinical process redesign
  • Aptitude, desire, and to advance clinical technology efforts with a focus on
  • Supervisory experience preferred and capabilities to develop and retain staff
