POSITION PURPOSE

The Digital Designer I is responsible for performing a variety of functions in compliance with job specifications and company quality standards to ensure overall customer satisfaction and service. This role must collaborate with other teams to define requirements, iterate on design solutions, and contribute expertise for various digital products. One key aspect of the role is creating digital assets for a wide range of platforms, including but not limited to websites, social media, display advertising, and email. This position executes design, layout, and typesetting projects with minimal assistance from the design team. Responsibilities of the digital designer will include designing digital assets and testing and optimizing them. Responsibilities also include staying updated on industry trends and the latest digital design software. This position requires basic art direction from brand marketing, digital marketing, content, and project management team to creatively execute projects. Good communication skills are necessary to interact with team members and facilitate projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Performs digital design, front-end web design, and desktop publishing job orders and revisions according to job requirements.
  • Communicates clearly with brand marketing, digital marketing, content, and project management teams when a question regarding orders arises.
  • Produces the digital design asset and production for product graphics, social media graphics and banners, static and rich banner ads, email templates, and websites.
  • Designs and creates prototypes, wireframes, and mock-ups.
  • Translates wireframes into simple, easy-to-use User Interfaces.
  • Tests assets and optimizes based on their performance.
  • Translates existing research and marketing strategies into effective campaign designs.
  • Provides proofs and ensures that proof deadlines are met.
  • Executes creative projects that meet the standards for the department.
  • Maintains a clean and well-organized Graphics/Desktop Publishing area.
  • Organizes files for safekeeping and easy retrieval

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in graphic design, marketing or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years education or experience in graphic design
  •  Intermediate knowledge with standard digital design tools, including but not limited to Sketch, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe XD, Adobe InVision, Adobe InDesign, Acrobat, and PowerPoint. 
  • Utility programs such as file compression, disk repair, print spoolers, PC to Mac, and Mac to PC conversion processes.
  • Good understanding of and experience with creating computer animations and motion graphics.
  • Good understanding of programming languages such as HTML and CSS.
  • Photo editing expertise.
  •  Some video editing knowledge.
  •  General knowledge of utility programs such as file compression, disk repair, print spoolers, PC to Mac, and Mac to PC conversion processes.
  • Ability to prepare files for output to film, plate, spot and 4-color process, digital press and receive and manipulate files electronically and maintain operating system on production machine
  •  Ability to send files digital printing press and copiers.
