Responsibilities

Encompass Health is looking for a Medical Records / Administrative Specialist to join our team.  

 

Medical Record Duties:

  • Receive electronic faxes, scan documents, and upload files into the electronic medical records system, Homecare Homebase.
  • Process signed and unsigned Orders and 485s..
  • Reprocess unsigned orders at End of Episode as task appears on Workflow Screen.
  • On a weekly basis, process unsigned orders older than 30 days. 
  • Verify Physician’s signature and date stamp all received documents to be scanned into the client chart. Scanning, attaching and verifying should be completed within 24 hours of stamp date.
  • Verify Electronic Service Agreement is signed.

Administrative Duties:

  • Answer busy multiline phone for agency office. Screen calls and route to the appropriate staff member.
  • Manage the reception area by greeting and welcoming visitors.
  • Maintain and order office supplies and medical supplies.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail daily. Mail and track physician orders.
  • Responsible for company-provided technology equipment including: point-of-care devices, phones, wireless air cards, pagers, digital cameras and notebook computers.

 

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Location: 2256 South Sycamore, Palestine, TX 75801

Qualifications

The right person for this role will be outgoing, have a positive attitude, and have exceptional multitasking skills. 

  • Minimum of 6 months of medical records experience in a clinic, hospital, or home health setting.
  • Previous experience working with an EMR system is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with Homecare Homebase (HCHB) is a plus.
  • Experience working with Sfax is a plus.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Advanced typing and computer skills.
