*Following 90 days of employment, employee will be able to choose either a 2 or 3 day hybrid/work from home schedule.

Responsibilities

Encompass Health - Home Health & Hospice is searching for a Staff Accountant II to join the accounting team at our corporate office in Dallas, TX. This Staff Accountant II role will focus on our numerous home health branches across the US. Previous multi-entity accounting experience is a must for success in this role. This is a full time, salaried position with excellent benefits. 

 

The staff accountant II is responsible for maintaining the general ledger throughout the month (including month-end close), preparing financial statements, completing financial analysis, and for communicating with branch offices for assigned entities. The staff accountant II can post and self-approve entries up to $50,000.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
  • At least 3 years of experience in multi-entity accounting is required.
  • Must have a minimum of two years of demonstrated experience working in an accounting department.
  • Healthcare industry preferred.
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology and software, especially the Microsoft office suite, including Excel and the ability to use complex pivots and functions.
    • Proficiency in Systems - PeopleSoft, Home Care Home Base, Insight, Worldview, SharePoint.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel - Ability to use and understanding complex Pivots.

Qualifications:

  • Must have the ability to interact positively with levels of personnel across all functions, and must be a self-starter who requires minimum supervision.
  • Must be well organized and detail oriented with a desire and ability to maintain excellent accounting records and documentation.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, across all levels of the organization.
  • Must be self-motivated and possess a high standard of professional ethics.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Must maintain automobile liability insurance as required by law
