Meet our veterans
Christina Murray, Case Manager, North Tampa
I served as a Physical Medicine Assistant in the Air Force-- a combination of occupational therapy and physical therapy. Coming out of the Air Force, I was referred to Encompass Health by a friend, where I now work as a case manager. I am able to use my therapy background to help each patient’s transition and my leadership skills to work through any problems. I love the structure that Encompass Health uses and the camaraderie that our company has created through its CPR (courtesy, professionalism, and respect) values.
Leah Maughan, RN, Martin
As a Corpsman in the Navy, I worked alongside military and civilian nurses to provide medical care to military members who had been wounded in combat overseas. To watch these young men and women work to overcome the physical and mental obstacles that were placed before them was truly inspiring. When I left the service in 2016 I was afforded the opportunity to attend nursing school. After becoming an RN, applying to Encompass Health seemed like a natural transition. I was able to implement the skills and work ethic that I had acquired from my military service into my job as a civilian nurse.
Blake Ulrich, Rehab Therapy Tech, Sewickley
I joined the Army National Guard as a Combat Medic and General Healthcare Specialist one month after I graduated high school. In the military, I learned that the best leadership is leading by example, which I try to implement in all areas of my life, including my transition to civilian life. Upon finishing training, I applied at Encompass Health. Some of my officers told me about rehabilitation they had received at Encompass after their tours of duty and it fit into what I wanted to contribute to the community outside of my military service. I have been a rehab therapy tech for four years now!
